AC Drive Technology

As pioneers of AC drive systems we have long-standing experience of this very efficient drive technology. Our ASM drives require next to no maintenance as the electric motors work without carbon brushes and the contact-free drive of the stator by the rotor uses magnetic force. There is also no need for other wearable parts such as directional contactor.

As well as the benefit of easier service, the marked improvement in energy efficiency is also a crucial advantage: compared to conventional DC motors, Sichelschmidt’s ASM-drives use less energy at the same performance levels. Working cycles can be extended by more than a full shift without an extra battery charge, even in harsh working environments. Instrumental in this is regeneration: every time the brakes are activated, energy is released which is stored in the battery.
